Windward is a one-of-a-kind pendant I shaped entirely by hand from solid sterling silver, inspired by the long history of sailboats and the elegant geometry of a sail drawn taut by wind.
The elongated, asymmetrical silhouette is crossed by a series of diagonal lines, alternating between smooth silver and individually hammered texture. Those shifting surfaces respond differently to the light, giving the piece a subtle sense of movement even at rest, almost as though wind were passing across the face of the metal.
Rather than reproducing a literal sail, Windward distills the idea to its essential form: line, tension, direction, and movement. The result feels at once maritime and distinctly modern, with the evidence of handwork left visible in the silver.
