Formed beneath mountains, shaped by ancient seas, or treasured by civilizations long vanished, these remarkable materials carry stories that stretch back millions of years. Larsen Jewelry exists to honor those stories, preserving them in pieces made slowly, thoughtfully, and entirely by hand.
For me, jewelry has never been only about adornment. It is a way of sharing wonder. Every necklace, bracelet, and pair of earrings is an invitation to slow down, look a little closer, and discover the extraordinary history hidden within the natural world.
If a piece leaves someone with a new favorite gemstone, a fascination with an ancient civilization, or simply a little more joy than they had before, then it has already become something far more meaningful than jewelry.
The Maker
Larsen Jewelry grew from a lifelong fascination with museums, archaeology, geology, and the craftsmanship of earlier generations. Every piece is still designed and made by one pair of hands in Colorado, where mountain landscapes, changing seasons, and quiet moments in nature continue to shape the work.
I've always believed that objects can carry stories.
Across cultures and centuries, jewelry has marked milestones, offered protection, celebrated love, and connected people to the world around them. It has survived empires, crossed oceans, and been passed from one generation to the next. That enduring tradition continues here, one carefully crafted piece at a time.
Every design reflects the things that have always captivated me: ancient civilizations, botanical forms, weathered architecture, wild coastlines, and the remarkable beauty of the stones themselves. My goal is not simply to create something beautiful, but something that feels timeless, meaningful, and worthy of becoming part of someone else's story.
The Process
Every piece begins with inspiration.
Sometimes it's a museum artifact worn smooth by centuries. Sometimes it's the graceful curve of a pressed flower, the weathered texture of driftwood, or the colors of the mountains at sunset. From there, each design moves through sketching, metal fabrication, and stone setting, all completed by hand in my Colorado studio.
No two pieces are ever truly identical. The subtle variations in texture, patina, and proportion aren't imperfections. They're the unmistakable signature of something genuinely handmade.
I work primarily in sterling silver and gold-filled metals, as well as occasional pieces in copper and gold. I source stones from trusted suppliers, favoring small businesses whenever possible, who share my commitment to responsible, quality materials.
But the stones are chosen for far more than their beauty.
Whether it's Arizona turquoise, British Columbian jade, luminous labradorite, fossilized coral, or freshwater pearls, every material carries its own geological history and cultural legacy. Learning those stories has become just as important to my work as making the jewelry itself. I believe that when we understand where something came from, we value it more deeply.

Most pieces are one of a kind or created in very small batches. When one finds its home, it is often gone for good, though its story lives on in the Living Archive. That isn't scarcity for its own sake. It's simply the honest result of making things slowly, intentionally, and by hand.
Why It Matters
We live in a world that asks us to move faster.
Things are designed to be replaced. Trends disappear almost as quickly as they arrive. Convenience often overshadows craftsmanship.
Larsen Jewelry was created as a quieter alternative.
Every piece is made slowly, using materials that have already survived thousands, and sometimes millions, of years. They remind us that beauty often asks for patience, and that the things worth keeping are rarely the ones made the fastest.
