Inspired by the blue-green mineral colors of Colorado, the Pike's Peak Whitewater Necklace is an exceptionally long, one-of-a-kind strand built around amazonite in a remarkable variety of forms and finishes. Polished rounds, faceted rounds, softly matte beads, polished rondelles, and tiny micro-faceted coins move through shades of watery blue, turquoise, seafoam, and green, allowing the character of the stone to shift continually along the full sixty-inch length.
Freshwater pearls bring another layer of natural variation. Luminous baroque and coin pearls mingle with slender stick pearls, petite potato pearls, and classic rounds, their irregular surfaces catching the light against amazonite's softer glow. Delicate faceted grossular garnet, jade, and emerald beads introduce small notes of moss, honey, and deeper green, while sterling silver accents punctuate the strand with flashes of cool brightness.
At approximately 60 inches long, the necklace was designed for transformation. Wear it as one dramatic, uninterrupted strand, double it into generous layers, or triple it closer to the neckline. Each arrangement brings different stones and pearls forward, making the same necklace feel subtly different every time it is worn.
Hand-strung in my Colorado Springs studio, Pike's Peak Whitewater is a celebration of natural materials, variation, and one of the gemstones most closely associated with Colorado's mineral landscape.
