Lotus & Leaf Earrings

Two forms of carved jade meet in a delicate study of color, texture, and botanical detail.

Lotus & Leaf begins with softly luminous rounds of natural white jade, each carved with a subtle lotus motif. Below, slender tubes of jadeite bring a beautiful wash of mottled green, their surfaces carved with tiny flowers that reveal themselves as the stones turn in the light.

The contrast is gentle rather than stark: cool, almost cloudlike white jade against varied greens that move from pale celadon to deeper mossy tones. Small 18kt gold-plated brass spacer beads punctuate the stones with warm flashes of gold, while each element is individually connected with hand-wrapped 14kt gold-filled wire.

Suspended from 14kt gold-filled huggie hoops and measuring approximately two inches long, the earrings have an elongated silhouette with plenty of natural movement. The carved surfaces make them especially lovely from different angles, offering small details that reward a closer look.

And because natural jade never repeats itself exactly, the subtle variations in color and pattern are part of the character of the pair.
