Inspired by the enduring visual language of ancient Egyptian adornment, Khepri’s Procession brings together deep lapis blue, warm gold, and a procession of hand-carved green soapstone scarabs made in Egypt.
Each approximately 15mm scarab is individually carved, giving the strand subtle variations from one figure to the next. Their softly weathered green surface is framed by rich 6mm lapis lazuli spacers and substantial 8mm gold-filled round beads, creating a bold rhythm of blue, green, and gold around the necklace.
The scarab was one of ancient Egypt’s most recognizable symbols, closely associated with renewal, transformation, and the daily movement of the sun. Here, that ancient form becomes the central architectural element of the design rather than a single pendant, repeating around the strand in a way that feels both ceremonial and remarkably wearable.
At approximately 22.5 inches long, Khepri’s Procession falls in an easy, elongated line, allowing the carved scarabs themselves to remain the focus. The materials are richly colored without becoming ornate, giving the necklace the feeling of something discovered between antiquity and the present.
