Between Two Skies II reveals just how much landscape can exist inside a single piece of lapis lazuli.

One face is an extraordinary field of saturated cobalt and ultramarine, crossed by long, dark natural mineral lines. They travel through the blue almost like distant rivers, branches, or paths seen from far above, with tiny points of pyrite appearing between them.

Turn the pendant over and the landscape becomes a night sky.

This face is darker and more mottled, moving through midnight, indigo, and smoky blue, with natural golden pyrite scattered generously across its surface. In sunlight, those minute metallic inclusions come alive against the stone.

I couldn't bring myself to designate either side as the back.

Instead, Between Two Skies II was deliberately designed as a reversible necklace, suspended from a sterling silver bail on an 18-inch sterling silver chain and finished with a sterling silver lobster clasp. Its two faces belong to the same stone, yet each tells an entirely different story.

There is no back. Only another view.

Natural variation, mineral inclusions, and veining are part of lapis lazuli's character rather than imperfections to be hidden. This stone exists exactly once. The pendant pictured is the exact pendant you will receive.
