Artist's Reflection

When I was little, I don't think I realized I was learning the names of wildflowers because I loved them. I simply wanted to know what they were. That same instinct has followed me into adulthood. Every new plant feels like meeting someone for the first time, and every walk becomes an opportunity to discover something I hadn't noticed before.

I think that's one of the greatest gifts nature offers us. It teaches us to pay attention, and rewards us for doing so.

The flowers that inspire my jewelry aren't chosen because they're fashionable or rare. They're chosen because, at some point, they stopped me in my tracks and made me look a little longer.
